St. Keverne Parish Council News

W
hen St. Keverne Parish Council was first approached about exploring the possibilities of providing more local needs housing in the parish it was emphasised time and time again that the parish would have control; it would be driven by them, they would have a say in where the sites are developed and they would have input into who was allocated the houses.

Now, with the imminent allocation of 13 houses at Trevallack Park, we are informed that we cannot be told who is likely to be nominated (due to confidentiality), we cannot recommend to housing officers who we feel are local and should be housed and therefore there is actually NO local input whatsoever.

St. Keverne Parish Council has therefore taken the decision that if all 13 houses at Trevallack Park are not allocated to local people then there can be no cooperation from this Council on any future local needs sites in the parish (St. Keverne or Coverack). My Council expects the criteria for the allocation of the 13 houses to be applied as promised and until we know that has been carried out then there can be no further discussion on any other sites.
