Hello!!
Mo and I both started our working lives as secondary school teachers in the East End of London. Mo left teaching and, after a while working for the National Children's Home, left to devote her time to bringing up our two daughters. Frances is now 27, and a Psychiatrist in Oxfordshire and Clare, 23, a trainee Chartered Accountant in the City. As the children got older, Mo began home tutoring in Maths, English and Piano. In church life, Mo has always enjoyed using her musical abilities, through playing the piano and singing. We have greatly enjoyed leading house groups together.
I was a Curate to two village parishes, Blackmore and Stondon Massey, in Essex, for over four years. For three years I did this part time as I concluded a 25 year career in the Metropolitan Police, as a sergeant and Deputy Manager of an inter-agency Youth Offending Team.
We moved to St. Keverne in 2006 when I was licensed for five years as the Priest in Charge of the Parish of St. Keverne. It has been a busy time so far! There have been challenges and changes. Mo has begun working for the Citizens Advice Bureau and I have developed a better understanding of the management of building projects.
But above all it has been the joy of meeting people and ministering in different situations that is at the heart of what our time here has been about. We have been greatly blessed in our parish by running ALPHA Courses and by being involved with other local churches in starting a monthly youth worship event, FUSION. It has also been exciting to see a new toddler group start but also to witness the devotion of so many people in making all the activities happen that you can read about on this website.
